No. Pawbase works with any microchip. Most microchips are 9, 10, or 15 digits. Just enter your pet’s microchip number to get started.

Where can I find my pet’s microchip number?

You’ll usually receive it when your pet is microchipped. You can also find it on vet records, adoption paperwork, or microchip documents. If you can’t locate it, your vet or shelter can scan your pet to provide the number.

How does Pawbase lifetime registration work?

Lifetime registration is a one-time $24.99 fee per pet that links your pet’s microchip to your contact information forever. No annual fees or renewals. You can update your contact info anytime, and your pet stays searchable 24/7.

What is Pawbase Premium?

Premium is an optional $14.99/year upgrade. It sends instant alerts when your pet’s microchip is searched and automatically generates a shareable lost-pet poster. Premium covers all registered pets in your account under one plan. Cancel anytime—your pets remain registered for life.

What happens if my pet goes missing?

Mark your pet as missing in the Pawbase app. Anyone who searches their microchip will immediately see that they need help. If a vet or shelter scans your pet, they will see your contact information. Premium members also receive an instant alert with the time and location of the search.

My pet’s chip is already registered somewhere else. Can I still use Pawbase?

Yes. You can register your pet with Pawbase even if they already appear in another database. Your Pawbase profile will show up when your pet is searched through the AAHA National Microchip Lookup Tool, giving your pet more visibility and a better chance of getting home quickly.
