Are Pawbase microchips ISO compliant?
Yes. Every Pawbase microchip meets ISO 11784 and 11785 and operates at 134.2 kHz, the standard frequency used across the United States.
Can any universal scanner read a Pawbase microchip?
Yes. Any universal ISO scanner used by vets, shelters, and animal control can read a Pawbase chip.
What does ICAR certified mean?
ICAR (International Committee for Animal Recording) certification guarantees every Pawbase microchip has a unique, secure ID number that cannot be duplicated. It’s the global gold standard for pet identification and data integrity.
How are the microchips packaged?
Each chip comes preloaded in a single-use 12-gauge injector, sealed in a sterile package with a sterilization indicator and expiry date printed on it.
Do the microchips come registered?
Boxes ordered directly ship unregistered. Each chip includes a registration card so the pet owner can register it themselves. Chips ordered through the Pet Professional Program arrive with registration included.
How much does microchip registration cost?
Registration is $24.99 per pet, one time, for life. There are no annual fees and owners can update their contact details anytime for free.
Do you offer volume pricing?
Yes. Breeders, clinics, shelters, and rescues who order regularly can apply for a Pet Professional account for volume pricing on chips and registrations.
