Why does it require a Pawbase microchip registration?
The collar tag links to the same pet profile as your microchip registration. This means whether your pet is scanned at a shelter or found by a stranger on the street, both routes lead to the same contact information, yours. The microchip registration is a one-time $24.99 fee through Pawbase.
Does the finder need to download an app?
No, that's one of the most important things about the Pawbase Collar Tag. Anyone who finds your pet can tap the tag with their phone (NFC) or point their camera at the QR code. Your pet's profile opens instantly in their browser, with no app required.
What if I change my phone number or move?
Just update your profile in the Pawbase app. Your collar tag always pulls from your live profile, so the moment you save a change, that's what a finder sees when they scan. No new tag, no re-engraving.
Is the tag waterproof? Will it last?
Yes. The tag is made from durable silicone that handles water, mud, heat, and general pet chaos. Unlike engraved metal tags, there's nothing to scratch off or wear down over time.
